Spider Man: Far From Home
01 Jan 0000Far From Home isn’t a travesty, it’s probably better than the average MCU film and certainly better than the average modern superhero movie. Is it a masterpiece? No. Is it great? For a certain type of person, yeah.
The best part of Spider man is Mysterio, not specifically Gyllenhal’s portrayal of Mysterio as some would say, but the character in general. Mysterio has a relatively simple plan and executes it in a way that’s easily followable. Other thing that sets you apart from other if years typically uses quick witness carefree attitude. He is the Spiderman is not a big deal went going down and he can handle it handle it will be fly right. You know, a big part of spiderman isn’t just beating the villain, but beating him with style. Holland just doesn’t have that going for him. He follows the same tired trend of the other MCU heroes: he fights the villain, he loses, he fights the villain again and this time he goes all out and wins. So trite. We know the hero is going to win, sometimes it’d be nice if the hero would know too. Let him know and play with it, like how spiderman is supposed to be. Like how the Garfield spiderman played it.
I don’t know why marvel thinks the Garfield spiderman is so terrible, but it’s obvious that they want absolutely nothing to do with it. They have gone to great lengths to remove any trace of quick wittedness, coolness, and flashiness from the Holland spiderman and it’s such a terrible blow for the character.
Mysterio brings back what’s lost in the Marvel Spiderman. Mysterio brings a sense of showbusiness, a sense of style, the desire to not only win, but win well.
